The Objects of the Theosophical Society

  • First — To form a nucleus of the Universal Brotherhood of Humanity, without distinction of race, creed, sex, caste, or color.
  • Second — To encourage the study of Comparative Religion, Philosophy, and Science.
  • Third — To investigate the unexplained laws of Nature and the powers latent in man.

The Theosophical Society

Those who join the Theosophical Society are not asked to give up their own faiths, beliefs or world perceptions. "No doctrine, no opinion, by whomsoever taught or held, is in any way binding on any member of the Society, and no teacher or writer has authority to impose opinions on others. All members are urged to defend and act upon these fundamental principles and also fearlessly to exercise their own right of freedom of thought and of expression within the limits of courtesy and consideration for others." (Quote from the Theosophical Society's resolution Freedom of Thought)

We are a group of people committed to offering a variety of programmes and activities focussed on the development of our spirituality. We endeavour to provide a programme that is freely available and a library that one can borrow from.

Where is Dunedin?

Picture

Where will you find us?

469 Hillside Road, Caversham
(at Bathgate Park), Dunedin; look it up here.

Details of our programme on page 'Activities'.

In our Study Group we started with a new topic and now read and discuss Chögyam Trungpa's book 'The Mind and Cultivating Loving-Kindness".

We will provide hard copies in our lodge on the day.

There is currently no Qi Gong; but is supposed to start in March - on Thursdays then.

The COVID-19 "traffic light system" has ended. So we have removed any restrictions previously in place.
However we request that
anyone displaying symptoms consistent with flu or Covid conditions to please refrain from entering the Society's building.
